The Leo Dictionary: Terms Only Leos Will Understand

by | Jul 3, 2025 | Uncategorized | 0 comments

You can always spot a Leo in the wild — not just by the scarf (okay, sometimes), but by the language they speak. A mix of official terms, chaotic phrases, last-minute optimism, and a whole lot of inside jokes.

So for all the new Leos trying to make sense of the chaos, and the old ones who now speak Leo like their mother tongue — here’s your survival guide.

📖 The Leo Dictionary

(Proceed with laughter, memories, and a dash of trauma)

1. Protocol (noun)

Definition: That invisible rulebook that makes you change 8 things in your program flow 5 minutes before the chief guest arrives.
Usage: “Areee, protocol mein nahi aata, change it!”

2. October Service Month (noun)

Definition: The Leo version of IPL season.
Clubs go all out, day after day, event after event — and by November, you can’t feel your legs or your WhatsApp fingers.
Alternate term: Service Season Stress Syndrome (SSSS)

3. Secretaerial Reporting (noun)

Definition: The art of updating reports at 11:57 PM on the deadline day.
Symptoms include: Panic, typing in CAPS LOCK, begging people for event pictures, and forgetting your own event name.

4. Stories on Instagram (noun)

Definition: The real scoreboard of any Leo event.
No stories? Did the event even happen?
Usage: “Guys can we get some BTS for stories or the PRO will cry again.”

5. Council Meet (noun)

Where agendas die and selfies thrive. Also known as:
Leo Lok Sabha.

6. “Hojayega” (phrase)

A Leo’s default stress-busting response to any impossible task.
Banner not ready? Hojayega.
Chief guest not confirmed? Hojayega.
Catering cancelled last minute? Hojayega.
No one knows how… it just does.

7. “Karlengay” (phrase)

Said with conviction at 1 AM before the event.
It’s the Leo version of manifesting.
No backup plan? No manpower? No clue? Karlengay.

8. REKI (verb)

The ultimate field trip. You go, you pretend to measure stuff, take 5 pics for proof, and come back feeling like a civil engineer.

9. Sponsorship Call (noun)

A mini TED talk where you convince a stranger to believe in your event, your club, and your wildly ambitious budget.
Alternate definition: An unexpected growth in character and courage.

10. Annual Awards Night (noun)

A festival. A movie premiere. A fashion parade.
You may forget your own birthday but not the night your club walked away with Best Club of the Year (or at least tried).
It’s the night where achievements shine, outfits slay, speeches get emotional, and every Leo secretly hopes their name is called at least once.
Also known as: The Oscars of the Leo World.

11. Leo Year (noun)

Definition: July to June. Not up for discussion.
The only calendar that matters. Your brain resets every July 1st.

12. Leoism (noun)

A beautiful mix of chaos, community, chai, creativity, and character-building.
You join for a badge. You stay for the people.
And when you look back — it’s never the awards or titles you remember…
It’s the laughter, the panic, the teamwork, and those two magical words: Hojayega Karlengay.

If you’ve reached here, you’re already fluent in Leo.

Welcome to the madness — we’re so glad you’re here. 💛
